The East Washington Heights Baptist Church, located in the Southeast neighborhood of Hillcrest in Washington, D.C., is a spirit-filled church that is
grounded in faith and prayer. Our mission is to worship God and study His word and to serve God through teaching, witnessing, nurturing
and ministering to one another and the community.

One of two foundational principles upon which our mission is based is taken from Matthew 22:37-39: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with
all thy heart, with all they soul and with all thy mind: and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."

The second principle comes from the Great Commission on carrying out the will of God, as cited in Matthew 28:19-20: "Go ye therefore, and
teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I
have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age."
